I'm Zahraa Khan, a 21-year old BSc (Hons) Computer Science student with many scattered interests, including neuroscience, psychiatry and AI.
About the Project
Current clinical approaches to the diagnosis of psychiatric disorders take the form of clinical interviews and questionnaires. However, there is increasing research being done into the biomarkers of psychiatric disorders, which present an avenue for more objectively grounded diagnostic procedures. Machine learning techniques are particularly well-suited to this task due to their ability to detect patterns that humans cannot. My project aims to further investigate this area of research by applying ML techniques (a CNN, SVM and ViT) to the detection of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) through electroencephalograms (EEG).
