The problem with the system we are trying to improve is that it does not
prevent funded students from receiving meal packages.
It does not facilitate the collection of meal packages and students
sometimes only find out that there is collection of meals on the day of
collection. This makes it hard for them to plan their collection in
relation to their classes because
they can't book a specific collection time. When they arrive, they face long queues.
Additionally, some students may have allergies to the food provided,
and as a result students may end up throwing it away or find someone else
to give the food to.
Our system is designed to solve the above problems by making sure that only
students who do not receive funding can apply for meal packages. It also allows students to
choose their preferred meals to be included in their packages to avoid wastage
of food and allergies. Students will be able to be notified of a collection day beforehand and
be able to book a time slot for collection. This will help in avoiding the long queues
so that the students won't miss their classes. We also provide the admin with
valuable reports to track the efficiency of the system and make informed decisions
to improve it.
