Dr. Sithungu is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of Department (Computer Science) at the Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering. He coordinates RECODE as a platform for Master's and Doctoral students to present emerging research, receive constructive feedback, and connect with the wider academic community. Dr Sithungu's research interests include biologically inspired computing, artificial immune systems and AI-driven cybersecurity.

Prof. Terence van Zyl

Prof. van Zyl holds the Nedbank Research and Innovation Chair at the University of Johannesburg, where he is a Professor at the Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering. He is an NRF-rated scientist with research interests in data-driven science and engineering, prescriptive analytics, machine learning, meta-heuristic optimisation, complex adaptive systems, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence.

Mr. Mufhumudzi Muthivhi

Mufhumudzi Muthivhi is a PhD student and Junior Lecturer whose research spans machine learning, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and representation learning. His work includes sequential and multimodal recommender systems, sentiment-informed portfolio optimisation, wildlife open-set recognition, wildlife re-identification, multi-object tracking, and self-supervised learning.
